Success Story

Date

There’s something really powerful that happens when you decide you’re ready for more—and then you actually do something about it.

I want to share a story with you today, not because it’s about a program or coaching, but because it’s about what’s truly possible when you’re willing to ask for help, stay open, and most importantly… take action.

From Frustration to Momentum

This story begins back in early 2021, right in the middle of COVID. You probably remember what that felt like—working from home, trying to stay focused at the dining room table, life happening all around you.

That’s exactly where this designer was. She came in feeling stuck and frustrated, struggling just to get her work done. At the same time, she had a massive opportunity on the horizon—a full-scale hospitality project, a complete renovation from the ground up, with everything from space planning to furnishings down to the forks in the drawer.

The kind of project we all dream about… and the kind that can quickly overwhelm you if it’s not set up properly.

Because here’s the truth: big jobs aren’t just about beautiful results. They’re about structure, clarity, and making sure you’re actually profitable at the end of it.

Building the Foundation First

Before diving into the project, we addressed what was immediately holding her back. She didn’t need a full studio or a massive overhead—she just needed a space of her own. One room. A door she could close. A place to focus.

That simple shift changed everything.

From there, she began strengthening the pieces that truly support growth. She worked on her pricing—both design fees and product—so she was charging appropriately and consistently. She dug into her money mindset and started releasing those quiet thoughts that tell you people won’t pay.

She also got clear on her ideal client. Because one big project is wonderful… but a sustainable business requires a steady flow of the right clients.

And then came systems. Just enough structure to allow her to bring in support—so she could stay focused on the high-value creative work, while someone else handled the administrative details.

Setting Up the Big Opportunity

When it was time to structure that large project, we looked at it from a higher level. Not just “what feels right,” but what would truly carry her through two years of detailed, complex work.

Her agreement outlined everything—clear deliverables, defined boundaries, purchasing processes, and space for additional charges along the way. Nothing left vague. Nothing left to chance.

And yes… she had her “pass the salt” moment.

That moment where you say a big number out loud, calmly and confidently, with no emotion attached. Just the number that reflects the work.

And you know what? The client said yes. Easily.

Because when you’re clear, organized, and grounded in your value, your client can feel that.

Growth Happens Step by Step

She didn’t stop there. While managing this large project, she continued building the back end of her business—learning how to manage finances, maintain profitability, and grow sustainably.

It’s what we often call “flying the plane while building it.” You don’t pause everything—you improve it as you go, step by step. And those steps add up.

She went from $250,000 in revenue to $1.25 million over the next few years. Not because of magic, but because she implemented what she learned, one decision at a time.

And that’s really the point of this story: you don’t need to overhaul everything overnight. You just need to take the next step… and then the next.

Because when you do, you create a business that not only looks beautiful—but supports your life, your time, and your worth. And that’s the goal.

So keep going. Keep building. And remember—you’re absolutely capable of creating this too.

Until then, design something beautiful… and get paid what you’re worth.

With love,
