Selling Luxury Clients

Let’s talk about something we all want – affluent clients.

We want to work with nice people who have the kind of budget we need to do good design without constantly worrying about the money.

The truth is, while everyone wants this, we aren’t all getting it.

And the biggest reason why is our mindset.

How we think about money lurks under the surface. We aren’t always aware of it, but it drives our decisions and behaviors, so it’s crucial to pay attention.

Often, designers feel they have to discount their services to get clients. They give things like time and product away to get in the door, hoping it will help them get more business in the future.

This is the wrong approach because like attracts like. It’s the law of attraction.

In The Real Deal, we work on upping your money mindset and vision of wealth consciousness. The vibration you put out attracts the same vibration. When you discount your services and, frankly, yourself, you attract clients who think like that too.

I want you to think about your relationship with money.

It may sound strange, but money is just energy and has odd energetic responses, beliefs, and emotions around it.

Wealthy people have a good relationship with money. They think of money as dependable and believe they will always have enough. That’s an abundance mindset.

On the other hand, someone with a scarcity mindset feels there is never enough. They believe it won’t be there when they need it, and they’ll have to struggle.

These feelings come from the way we grew up and the things and people that influenced us. These ideas get embedded in our subconscious, and we aren’t aware that they are running our lives and actions, which is attracting the wrong clients.

I’d encourage you to journal about your relationship with money to work through any mindset issues that are coming up.

Often, people who have a difficult relationship with money believe that rich people are dishonest and a slew of other negative things. They’d never want to be rich because of the picture they have painted of “those people.”

Here’s the thing: You can’t attract what you resent.

We know plenty of wealthy people do wonderful things with their money. So if you have negative feelings about the very people you want to attract as clients, you have some work to do to turn those thoughts around.

Once you’re able to make that shift within yourself, you’ll be able to attract the kind of clients you want more quickly.

Being broke is a temporary situation and it happens to everyone. There are ups and downs in life, and sometimes we have to hustle to get back to a better place.

When the struggle with money becomes permanent, there’s a problem.

In one of the first wealth consciousness workshops I attended, I learned that any money situation you’re in, like continuously being broke, is something you’ve self-created with the universe and that you alone are responsible for your finances.

The good news is that if you can create scarcity out of an old belief system, you can create abundance when you change your mindset.

We focus on that idea so much in our programs because I know that once you start thinking in abundance, expecting good things to show up, expecting good clients, and having faith that it will happen, it will show up for you in a remarkable way.
