What Does Your Inner Dialogue Tell You?
There’s something that I know to be true.
When you change your words, you change your world. What I’m referring to is the voice and the words you use on yourself. They are what drives your actions, and that’s what either creates your success or your self-sabotage.
Transforming Your “I am” Statements
Some people have the equivalent of a bad roommate sitting on one of their shoulders. It’s a constant voice that’s saying mean things to them. The types of things that you would never say to your children.
And that voice keeps going on with sayings like:
- “I am fat.”
- “I am not successful.”
- “I never have good clients.”
- “All my clients are cheap.”
- “I’m never going to get published.”
- “I am afraid to ask for money for my work.”
- “I’m afraid to charge a large design fee, that’s too scary; I couldn’t ask for that.”
When all of that negative talk is going on inside your head, that’s what you create in your reality.
But you can change that. You can change your “I am” statements. And it might look like the following statements instead:
- “I am thin.”
- “I am beautiful.”
- “I am a competent designer.”
- “I attract good clients and money.”
- “I am capable of creating a design fee and getting paid what I’m worth.”
- “I am going to be published this year.”
- “I am a successful designer.”
- “I’m in charge of my life.”
It’s those types of statements that change the direction you’re manifesting because they change the way you feel about yourself. They transform your inner dialogue.
Your “I am” Challenge
Now, I have a challenge for you. Over the next six weeks, I would like you to practice new “I am” statements by writing them down with a pen and paper.
Start with maybe five or six statements. Once you have written them down, you’re going to say them every day out loud for six weeks. Then you’re going to see what happens at the end of that timeframe. I’m willing to bet that you’re going to be pleasantly surprised at how things start shifting for you and things you want to start showing up.
Because you know when I meet you, and I see you, I see somebody who’s much bigger than you think you are. I see this enormous potential, massive energy, and all this creativity and beauty. And the other IDBA members see that as well. They see you as a much bigger and more powerful individual, and they will tell you about it too.
It’s that kind of support that gives you what you need to be able to create a six-figure business or multiple six figures, or even seven figures. And at Design Biz Summit, it happens all the time. It’s really predictable.
Right now, there are a few seats left, and one of them could be yours. I would be honored to have you there, and it would be lovely for you to join us in a few weeks in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In the meantime, design something beautiful and get paid what you’re worth.
