Does Environment Matter?

Of course, that’s what we designers are all about!

We create these beautiful spaces for clients so they are functional and comfortable. Those spaces affect clients in a very positive way, including their well-being.

But, my question for you is: how much of that beauty is happening for you?

I’m not talking about your showplace of a living room, because I am sure it’s spectacular and gorgeous.

No, what I‘m talking about is the place you actually work: your office.

If you’re like most designers, then your office tends to be a mess.

There’s stuff everywhere: paper, samples, books, clients’ stuff, plumbing parts, and maybe even pieces of tile. Everything is everywhere, and it’s probably a very difficult place to work.

It’s hard to be clear in business when you’ve got a working space in this state!

So I’m inviting you to spend fifteen minutes today and clear out your office.

Just clean it up:

  • Go and file all that paper that needs to be filed and if it doesn’t, then throw it away!
  • Get all the samples into a stack by the door, so they can go out and be returned.
  • Clean out all client notebooks of the jobs you’ve finished.
  • Keep the very important things you have to have and get rid of all the rest

Why? Because you’re creating space for new ones to come in!

Get your job board up to date. Make sure you’ve got every job you’re working on listed, including where you’re at in each one and what’s needed. This will help you from holding that information in your head or scrambling through a bunch of paper to figure out what you’re going to do.

When you’re finished and have created this little bit of Feng Shui in your life, you’re going to have new energy flow in…because now there’s a space for it and that’s the way it works 😉

You may be feeling that new flow of energy and are not sure what to do with it all or how to make the most of the new opportunities coming your way.

If that sounds like you, then you’re invited to also have a complimentary, no-pressure, Clarity Call with an IDBA Enrollment Coach.

Together you’ll discuss what’s going on in your business, where you want to go, and the best next step for you and your business!
